The color variations in this rug is from the natural aging of the plant based dyes used on the wool. It was a solid red/orange
when originally produced however, because this was made from several different "batches" of dye as it ages and is exposed to the
natural environment the different batches slowly mature into the color variations you see today. These rugs were typically made with
the leftover colors from the detailed motif rugs as you can get dozens of different shades of the same color in one piece.
